The End is Here • 24/08/2010

Wow it is a weird a day today! It’s the final of the last ever Big Brother on Channel 4 but it doesn’t feel like the end because as well as announcing a winner we are going to be adding in a whole bunch of new housemates to the house.

It is really odd – I feel like I should be mourning the end of something but I am so excited about Ultimate Big Brother that I am not allowing myself to grieve yet. I know who is going in and the thing for me is how all these really big characters we have loved and hated over the years are going to get on.

There are some real firecrackers going in! Woop woop!! I have just looked at my schedule for today and I have to try and not use up all my energy – I have a marathon amount to do! It’s going to be like doing a one woman telethon – and without sugar! My sister is coming down to the show as is my nanny and a whole bunch of friends that come every week so it will be a real party after the show –  I’m not going to say who i think is going to win, I know who most of you thinks is going to win ....  

See you tonight at 8pm when we will all find out!!!! ;-)

    Hope this last BB has been everything you hoped it would be and you're looking forward to a well-earned holiday. Thanks for the last 10 years of BB, I've watched every single one and it's been a rollercoaster. X

    I’m so glad that I’ve found out that you have got you own page on Facebook, as well as your own officially website too! Cos I have been a great fan of yours, for a long time and also been an avid fan of BIG BROTHER, ever since it started, way back in 2000. And have watched every single programme of it! So I just like to wish you and everyone who have worked there and everybody who’ve been in this fantastic show! all the best, and I will be extremely sad, when this finally ends on Friday!!!

  • Davina - been watching all the live stuff all the time. Can't believe I'm 46 years old and this last BB is really getting to me. Just saw Craig waving and tapping on the patio doors as the group said goodbye after the task.."Let me in.." he said. Now, I'm crying - what's the matter with me!!   • Davina, BB has been a huge part of my summer for 11 years! Even though I moved overseas last year, I've still kept up via FB and Twitter and it's all down to you. Your enthusiasm for it is brilliant and who'd have thought when those first housemates did naked clay painting all those years ago that we'd be here now! Thanks for all the memories.

  • Davina, just wanted to say that you have been the best presenter they could have had in BB! You genuinly love the show like us viewers and have been amazing! I have watched every single episode of BB and am going to miss this wonderful show and you presenting it so much! What is the summer of 2011 going to be like without a handful of hopefuls walking through those doors and the fun filled anticipation that lies ahead for the next 13 weeks! All my memories, of past summers..include parties, and drink nights with BB...ex Gf's, old friends, end of an era.   • I started watching BB in it's 3rd year and loved that series especially either Kate and Jade, I lost interest in some of the recent years but this year has been amazing. I watched live stream for the first time because I was so into it and have found it so funny and entertaining. It has to be the best series ever but it's bittersweet. I am truly sad that it's ending and I have enjoyed watching you present it with such enthusiasm and humour!
    I really am going to miss the summer of fun on channel 4, especially after it's gone on such a high note.

    I am so in agreement with this! I look forward to Big Brother all year and love CBB to give us a taste of what's to come. Has been an amazing journey. I will miss you Davina the most, she really makes the show for me!

  • End of an era tonight :( so sad for this to end, big brother won't be the same without channel or you Davina, amazing 10 years with you at the helm! The next 2 weeks with UBB will be awesome anyways. If another channel takes BB please go with them to present, BB is an institution in the UK and you help make that happen.

    Good luck and don't be too sad, celebrate what you have created, you have had a positive impact on many many people hopefully your fans have brought you a smile too

  • sam pepper was brilliant, josie deserved her title tonight , and i think she is really brave for doin ultimate bb, john maclirik is repulsive but gr8, nikki graham will crack in 10 minutes i think and josie byt he looks of it will get aloong with everyone, i hope she wins it again, if brian bellow goes in she'll have some competition

  • hi davina :) i am really going to miss big brother :( it has been an amazing few months i have loved every momment of it i wanted the hour shows to be 2 hours not one that is how much i loved it !!:) btw 2 things i want to ask is there is more bb after you talk to josie, but i think nobody can beat these housemates that have been in the house like sam pepper, corin, josie, jj, dave and ofcourse JOHN JAMES !! :) and the rest but i really like these people the most out of everyone who has been in tbh and aslo is there going to be a dvd coz i really want there to be coz i have missed a few of them and really just want to watch it again!! :) also been on holiday the last 2 weeks well going on friday so i ahev missed the best bits like the final and everything i am reallt pissed lol but any way and good luck with the rest of your career davina i will actually miss bb sooo muchhh !!! :) scarlet xx

  • I think your treatment of John James was disappointing. It started when after Sam had annoyed Josie and John James relentlessly for several days, then finally lost it at him (which was well deserved), and Sam went cowering in the corner like a child, you took Sam's side. Would you do that with your kids, much less a young adult? And then after Rachel taunted John James from the moment he walked into the massage room and granted went too far with the pay for sex comment, you villified John James and didn't even mention that she brought it about. I think you've been a bit too hard on him, which is a bit unprofessional in your role and with your influence. And truthfully, you owe him an apology as you have made this much harder on him than it need be...only focusing on his arguing instead of all the fun parts he brought to the house. Besides that I have enjoyed watching you. Andy

  • Since BB8, I have been fortunate enough to go to many evictions; each time I have done so, you have noticed me in the crowd and made me feel extremely welcome. For every time I have spoken to you, I've never had the chance to mention how much I appreciate your work and dedication. You have made BB what it is, and you should be proud.     Started watching sometime through the first series, which makes me feel old as I was like 17 at the time (lol).

    It'll sink in next summer when nowt happens for the first time in 10-11 years.

    Hope the rumours of another channel (maybe) picking up BB are true, if not hopefully we will see it again at some point down the line.
